Cranmore is between seasons right now, so I figured it'd be a good time to go up the access road (generally avoids the ski trails; a good portion of it is the designated uphill route in the winter) after downhill skiing at Black (yes, actually open!). Access road was snow-free with some minor mud from the recent rain. 2.75 miles one way. Ski trails still have large patches of snow and plenty of muck. No natural snow remains at this elevation.
Trailing arbutus in bloom.
Mostly cloudy afternoon with a few brief glimpses of sun and temperatures around 50F. |
