 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All the streams on Carter Dome Trail were running pretty good but we were able to rock hop across them |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
19mile was in great shape, Carter-Dome had one or two blowdowns that were easy enough to navigate. Carter-Moriah up to South Carter and over to Middle Carter were a bit of a mess, multiple blowdowns with re-routing required. North Carter had running water and some deeper mud but nothing too troubling. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't bring my dog and wouldn't at this point. Streams are bit too deep even for her experience and the icy spots were numerous enough to present a danger to her. |

 | Comments: |
Overall a great day, a true spring shoulder season hike with warmer temps and clear trails below 3,600 feet and then monorail and ice patches above that. The monorail was mostly stable given the lower temps on the day. I could've worn micro-spikes on North Carter on the way down as there were some pretty slippery spots but there were enough dry patches in between that I kept to bare boots the whole day. Snow shoes got a free ride today. |
