 | Comments: |
Rained all day but we kept spirits high. Trail starts off dry but transitions to mud/covered in running water around 1.5 miles in when the trail runs next to a snow melt ravine. Shoes will get wet but it's all part of the spring hiking experience. Ice monorail starts around 3000ft of elevation and continues to summit. We switched to microspikes and kept them on to the summit and back down to 3000ft. Still a few feet of snow at the summit (2-3) with some postholes occurring. Might soften up considerably with consistent warmer temps. Ended the hike soaked to the bone but happy to have bagged #44 |
