 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The awesome DOT was actively working on the road blowdowns when I was descending this morning. Though Hurricane Mountain Road was still closed first thing this morning it appears that it might open soon! |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a widowmaker hanging by a thread (literally) about 100 yards from the Black Cap Trail trailhead. I have to believe that “the powers that be” know about it because there is quite the chainsaw party occurring on this trail, right now. It has been years since I saw a blowdown and thought twice about walking under it. Upon further inspection (from the uphill side) you can see that part if it is wedged in another tree’s fork, but still. Wowza. Photos are on my Instagram. |

My pup had fun on this route. This is a great area for dogs. |

 | Comments: |
I wasn’t planning to get all the way to the Black Cap summit but we had time and great footing so we did. There is only a smidgen of mud in that typically wet spot above the Cranmore Trail; otherwise the route is dry. It was a clear morning so we had great views! |
