 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I travelled almost the whole length of Middle Sister Trail. It is in very good shape. I didn't do all of Carter Ledge Trail today, but there are a pair of blow-downs in the section between the junctions with the Nickerson Ledge and Middle Sister trails. The blow-downs are big enough to require help from a pro crew. |

 | Comments: |
I went up Carter Ledge Trail and Middle Sister Trail. That's about 4.5 miles to the summit of Middle Sister, but it's a beautiful route. The upper part of Middle Sister Trail has some beautiful views. It was very windy up there (maybe 40 mph gusts).
I needed Champney Falls Cutoff for redlining. After that minor detour, I went down Piper Trail. I really enjoyed the views back toward Chocorua and over to the Carter Ledges.
I finished the hike by connecting back to Carter Ledge Trail and following it back to the campground. |
