Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bring Crocs and patience. The primary water crossing requires some knee deep wading, but was manageable enough once you're resigned to that. A few other crossings required rock hopping. The ENTIRE trail from North to South Twin is a wet mess. There is no avoiding it. You will get wet up to your shins, and it will be cold, and you will have a great tale to tell.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Other than everything being under water and snow, the trail was in decent shape. The last mile up to North Twin is getting very loose, but I'd wait until everything dries up to try and solve that challenge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None
Bugs
Bugs: A few down low

Comments
Comments: Some of the oddest conditions I've encountered. The recent storms dumped notable snow on previously dry trails, and that snow is now melting and looking for someplace to go. It starts at about 3900 feet and remains very wet and surprisingly deep between the two summits.
The main crossing is great prep for what's about to come. You'll get knee deep but you'll be fine. Two miles later you'll end up wading through ankle to shin deep slush that will numb your toes and get you laughing in frustration. It's an adventure. Maybe not a good one, but definitely a memorable.
You can probably safely complete this hike, but maybe wait a few weeks for it to dry out.
