 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot on Tripoli Road was full at 9am today. No surprise, given that it’s a holiday weekend. It’s a $5 fee to park. Also plenty of parking along the road - just make sure you pull off enough. |

|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No issues. All crossings are small and rock hoppable |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Looks like some recent maintenance has been done. I do recall a few blowdowns in between the summits, but you could duck under. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a number of pups out having a great day today |
|
 | Bugs: |
Nothing too bad. Only really noticed them at the car upon return in the afternoon. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Found a black Nike baseball hat and an arm sleeve (I think it was Smartwool, but not sure). Left them both at the trailhead kiosk. There were also a few other items at the kiosk, including a pair of purple glasses, a YakTrak, water bottle, and a glove. |

Beautiful day to be out for a hike - I think everyone else got the memo too. Trail was surprisingly dry in places heading up to Mt. Osceola summit. You’ll definitely find spots of running water on the trail, mud, and wet rocks and roots. No snow on the trail, but some was visible off trail about a half a mile from the summit. I’m sure it won’t last long. The mud wasn’t all that deep in most spots, so you could just walk right through it or use the rocks underneath to stay on the trial.
heading over to East Osceola, there’s more mud, wet rocks and roots, and a couple of areas with slushy snow/mud, but nothing would require spikes or snowshoes. Both the Chimney and the bypass were in good condition. A few wet spots on the Chimney, but that’s to be expected with all the rain and even snow lately.
Shoutout to Mad River Coffee House for the excellent post-hike blueberry lemonade :) |
