Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown close to the summit that I hit my head on (concentrating too hard on the trail, and it was the perfect height!) A few others here and there that were all step-overs.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Dogs might require a boost on some of the ledges. Mine did well and was able to find ways around some steeper sections. Very muddy towards the end!

Comments
Comments: Like the report from Saturday, trail was dry up to Mt Surprise and made for an easy going first 2 miles. Past Mt Surprise things started to get dicey. Rock slabs were slick from the rain the day before and I went very slow. Snow and slush began to form on the trail as we got closer to the summit. Normally I wear my trail runners but I was happy to have my waterproof boots. A few sections of truly unavoidable mud, and the section with bog bridges was *almost* underwater. I put my pole in the ground and it sunk very deep. I took quite a few spills on the slippery roots. Summit was socked in, so snapped a few photos and headed down. I used my spikes in the snowy sections and took them off near the ledges.
