The parking area is in great shape. Mine was the only car when we started and there was one additional vehicle when we got back. |

I am the trail adopter and needed to visit the summit for a quick task, which was successful. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
My pupper had an awesome time making sure the squirrels got their cardio. We did however have a rather not good interaction with an uncontrolled, off-leash dog on our descent. The person in charge of the dog was not nice and told me “I can’t control him because he is more than 50’ from me.” It was a teachable moment but the person did not seem like he would be receptive so I did not say anything. When I got to the parking lot I noted that the person’s truck was parked less than 10’ from the sign that says “USFS Regulations.” “ WHILE IN DEVELOPED AREAS (CAMPGROUNDS, TRAILHEADS, PICNIC AREAS) DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH. OUTSIDE OF THESE DEVELOPED AREAS, THEY MUST BE LEASHED OR UNDER VOICE CONTROL.” |

 | Bugs: |
Yep. Both Allen’s Ledge and the Hedgehog summit had ferocious mosquitos. Eek. |

We hiked to Allen’s Ledge for sunrise and, after enjoying that spectacular show (photos on social media), we headed to the summit for a quick task. Then we jetted back down the way that we had come, in order to make it to work on time (barely LOL. Totally worth it). The footing is fabulous right now as most of the mud has dried and the leaves are not slippery. Perfect! |
