 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The Davis Path heading up to Stairs Mountain is growing in at places and has several small blow downs which could be cleaned up by a generous day hiker with a saw. There is one large, old blowdown blocking the trail near the junction with Stairs Col Trail where people have created a go-around through vegetation (because the tree makes the trail impassable). |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Did not see any dogs |
|
 | Bugs: |
Black flies were out. As long as I was moving on the shaded trail, I was OK. But on the sunny slabs, the black flies were in full attack mode and I resorted to a head net. Only saw one mosquito. |

 | Comments: |
Overall the trails here are in good condition. Down low the trail was very dry but the brook was running well. Further on past Crawford, there were spots with trickles of water on the trail and two or three small streams where I was able to collect and filter water. Views were great. Slab rock and ledges were excellent. |
