Conditions: Knowing that this post is a mute point, considering all the new snow we're getting, I'll just say that the trails will get even better after the storm. We had a large group yesterday with Hiker Ed and pretty much wore snowshoes from car to car. A few switched to spikes or crampons on the ridge walk, but any form of traction was necessary. We left a nice snowshoe track the whole way. The ridge had some ice and crusted snow with some boiler plate and bare rocks, but not bad. The new snow should cover that up and make for some great snowshoeing.
We saw many familiar faces on the ridge today, marking off that leap year calender day. No wind with some dim sun. All in all a great hike with a great group.
