No midges or black flies, a good number of mosquitos kept at bay by liberal application of deet. |

 | Comments: |
Moderately challenging hike with beautiful Round Pond and some decent views. A pair of golden eagles (I think) circling Mt Rand summit area. If you take the ledge cutoff on the Quarry trail up West Quarry, keep your eye on the blazes. There is a turn with a false trail leading straight into a nice dead end. |
