 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No issues on Mill Brook. I was the only vehicle when I arrived and the only vehicle when I left. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Couple of small water crossings but there are planks or bridges for the majority and the others are mostly avoidable. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Only a few small blowdowns coming from Unknown Pond's North trailhead in Stark. Killkenny is a mess, especially between the Horn and the Bulge. There are significant, large blowdowns everywhere making it a bit of a slog back and forth. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
No drugs. |
 | Bugs: |
Not to bad. The worst were right at the parking lot! |
 | Lost and Found: |
Lost my quarter zip pullover on the descent of the Horn. Probably got snagged on one of the blowdowns. I want going back, so whoever found it... Enjoy! |

 | Comments: |
Unknown Pond Trail from the north is uneventful. A little muddy for the first half mile or so, but as the elevation goes up the trails dry out well. But Kilkenny Ridge from the Horn Spur to Cabot is a disaster area. There are blowdowns everywhere. Other reviewers have commented, but the trails are mess so plan extra time and a whole lot of extra effort meandering around them. But, those aside, it was a good day for hiking with a handful of others on the Ridge Trail. Unsurprisingly, I was the only one on Unknown going back and forth from Stark. |
