 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Class 6 end of Carter Mountain Road was basically class 6 at its finest: felt like off-roading. Lots of huge puddles, ruts, washouts, and mud. My pavement princess, while highly capable, wasn't super happy getting mud-covered. I had to hold down the duckies on the dashboard. I would not recommend for the everyday corolla. I parked at the usual berm before the ATV/hiking trail heads off to the right. |

Terrific quick morning hike. Constant downpours were a big motivator - shaved 10 minutes off my usual time. Gorgeous woods. No views from top or cabin. Took a couple bootski slides down into the abyss of mud. Moved quickly to second activity of day after this one: paddling the Pemi Bristol segment where the water was much appreciated!!! |
