Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Cool, windy day was perfect! Got one black fly bite on Ferncroft Road, but I made it almost 13 miles without one, so I'll take it!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I did leave my anemometer (wind reader gizmo, it's green) at the view from Passaconaway (bottom of the view spur). If anyone gets up there, I'll happily pay for shipping to get it back.

Comments
Comments: Great day in the Sandwich Range! Wonalancet Range Trail from the beginning to the wilderness was great. Wilderness sign to the slippery ledge was a bit rough (and wet), but from the ledge to the terminus was wonderful. I guess every moose in the area decides to poop at the junction with Walden?
Walden down to Square Ledge was slow going but manageable. Square Ledge Trail was just a delight. The first segment down to Square Ledge Brook was beautiful and breezy (I did hear some insane sound from the woods, might have been satan himself). From the brook up to the view to Passaconaway was steep, of course, but for what it's worth in good condition and super fun! The rest was slow and steady - the scramble at the slide is definitely worth it for the view.
Walden to the summit was wet but straight-forward. View Spur was wet (expected) and had some tricky blowdowns. Dicey's Mill was a delight after a challenging day!
