 | Comments: |
First time going up Adams and the King's Ravine/Great Gully stretch is quite the ride. If you love boulder scrambling and verticality, this is the route for you. Exceptionally beautiful, but definitely a challenge. A few patches of ice remain in the middle of Great Gulch, but the ferns and wildflowers are out in force on the lower stretch, with fiddleheads abounding in the middle. Lots of running water and fresh Spring growth made that route a little bit difficult to follow as a first-timer, but worth the effort. Otherwise an absolutely perfect weather day in the summits. The Madison Springs Hut crew was readying the place for Thursday's open. |
