Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Magalloway Road is a “dreamy dirt road” I read one time. I agree! Tower road not quite so dreamy-but still in great shape. There’s one small dip in the area where the road was damaged from beaver flooding in past few years-I would guess a low clearance can pass but with great care.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great dog hike. Be aware outlooks past tower are sheer cliffs and appear abruptly
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies were swarming like crazy at 8am but weren’t really biting. Head nets worked great as always

Comments
Comments: Great quick hike to start the day for the boy’s 41/52. Last time I hiked Magalloway I recalled the Bobcat trail having lots of mud pits and that was at a dry time so we avoided it and just used the old fire warden’s trail (Coot). Weird to see trout lily just opening and hobblebush still in bloom. After the hike we got rejected by the closed Stub Hill Gate, but were subsequently awarded with a large bull moose strutting his stuff in front of us on route 3:)
