Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The restoration work that's been done on OBP is nothing short of amazing. It's such a stark contrast between the areas of the trail that haven't been touched yet versus the areas that have been redone. Trail crew was out at the Greenleaf Hut beginning to build proper bog bridges over the muddy part after the Hut heading up Lafayette. They said they expected the project to take about 3 weeks. They also mentioned that the plan (hopefully) is to have the work on OBP done by the end of the season, and then next season they will work on doing relocations of Falling Waters. Speaking of Falling Waters...man, that poor trail is a mess. The trail corridor itself is free of blowdowns, but it looks like it got hit by a bomb. There are also numerous areas down low where there is just standing water/mud (trail is not draining properly), and is being widened on both sides by people not wanting to get their shoes dirty.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots and lots of happy puppers out there!
Bugs
Bugs: Out in FORCE. Be prepared. A constant 10-15mph wind on the ridge did absolutely nothing to keep them at bay. I can't tell you how many bug bites I have all over my body today.

Comments
Comments: Never a bad day on the Ridge! Smoke from the wildfires obscured the views, and the bugs were lined up for the all-you-can-eat buffet of humans, but hey...the sun was out, and we weren't working! Can't beat that :)
