Comments
Comments: Decided to hike up the south face of Mt Willey because it is a short distance trek that doesn't take too long since there was a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Went to Ripley Falls after the hike up Mt Willey.
The Ethan Pond Trail has some muddy spots but otherwise was in fine condition.
The Willey Range Trail continues to have some eroded spots with side trails, loose stones in places, and the deteriorating log ladders.
The Arethusa=Ripley Falls Trail has a few minor mud spots.
There are two nice outlook ledges around the summit. The haze gave a ghostly look to the surrounding mountains.
Lots of AT hikers on the Ethan Pond Trail. The only hikers I met on the Willey Range Trail was a father/daughter pair. A few tourists at the falls.
Saw some Painted Trillium and Hobblebush flowers.
