Trail Maintenance Notes: There are three evergreens across the Air Line at a high enough clearance to allow easy passage with just a slight duck. There are one or two tree falls on the Valley Way that were easy to go over. There is a temporary trail sign at the junction of the Air Line and the King Ravine Trail that no longer has any writing. Some of the water bars on Valley Way have water running over them downhill on the trail.

Comments
Comments: I decided to hike the Air Line - Valley Way circuit to avoid any major brook crossings with all the recent rains. The trails below tree line had a lot of water running down the pathway with lots of mud and standing water. Frequently there are stones to facilitate passage through the mess. Nevertheless, expect to get your footwear wet. Expect wet trails with brief interludes of dry trail. Above tree line the surfaces were dry.
The alpine flowers were in bloom. Diapensia and Lapland Rosebay were most prominent on the Air Line and Gulfside trails above the tree line. I saw some Alpine Azelea.
The views were limited by clouds and haze.
Veered off Valley Way on descent in order to view the falls on Snyder Brook that are accessed by the Fallsway. The strong water flow made for great falls.
Many hikers out today. Nice to talk with Alice Cooper/Monkey's Uncle as well as BradyGirl1. There was a group of teenagers from Ontario at the hut that were on a class trip. Also met hikers from NC, GA, Quebec, and the New England states.
