Why not go see Waterfalls since the sun finally came out, views still hazy due to Canadian wildfires. Lots of people out. good number walking in the Brook bed on the ledges. Trail up was muddy and rooty, lots of herd paths to the Brook bed. Lots of water so Brook was loud and Cascades beautiful. Bridge abutment still there but no bridge, watched people walk through the water or try to rock hop. I went left and headed down AT, went about half a mile and then entered the woods and whacked down the hill down through mostly open woods but the floor is covered with young hobblebush. When I hit Cascade Brook I followed it back up the wide open ledges back to the trail where I had started. Lots of people visiting The Basin. |
