 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
As previously mentioned, there are two big blowdowns (more like debris fields) just shy of the peak. Despite being relatively fresh (pine needles are still green on blowdowns), there's already a beaten path around each. The only tricky thing is that the second bypass appears to dead end and the actual trail is so well covered with debris you might not realize you're on a bypass at all. If that is the case, just look to your left. Either way, this could definitely use some TLC. |

Meant to post this last night. Trail really wasn't that muddy or wet. In fact I was shocked given how much rain came through on Friday and Saturday. It felt more like August. The wet and muddy spots are ones that are always wet and muddy and it was pretty easy to go around them (unless you happen to be attached to a dog that likes to tromp right through the middle). Most of the trail was dry.
Just to reiterate: the black flies are relentless (and seemingly DEET-resistant) and those big blowdowns up top could use a little work. |
