Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All easy rock hops |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Generally good shape. A number of fallen trees, but all easy stepovers. The severely eroded section ascending Field (on the Willey side) gets worse every time I do this hike, but would need many stone steps or significant re-location to repair. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
 | Bugs: |
None! Too windy today. |
 | Lost and Found: |
I found a pack towel & case beside the brook on Avalon, with a large chunk of poop nearby. Hope it was a large dog, but looked more human. Leave no trace! Or at least get away from the trail and the water sources. I carefully packed up and carried the towel and case out; glad I had alcohol for my hands. |

Sadly, not much in the ways of views today as the sun only struggled out briefly while I was on Tom. Quite windy in places, particularly Willey lookout. Enjoyed meeting and chatting with Mike K at several points and agree with his assessment of the conditions. Also met a very interesting gentleman who is a Ham operator sending/receiving messages from mountain summits. |
