 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking lot for Edmand's Path trailhead was full just before 9am. Cars are able to pull off to one side off the road without issue. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No issues. The one sizeable crossing down low on Edmand's Path was fairly easy to rock hop. Water was running over the tops of my boots in spots, but otherwise, no issues. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I only recall one duck under tree on Edmand's Path, but I'm drawing a blank as to where it was. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a lot of pups out having the best time! |
 | Bugs: |
They weren't too bad in the morning, but boy did they want to feast in the afternoon! Didn't notice them until well back below treeline. Mostly black flies, but some mosquitoes too... I guess no surprise with all the rain and standing/running water on the trail. |
 | Lost and Found: |
there was a pair of glasses at the parking lot kiosk |

 | Comments: |
Excellent day to be above treeline! The sun was poking in and out for most of the afternoon. Trails were a mix of dry and wet below treeline, likely due to all the rain. Some spots on the trail, especially closer to the Crawford Path junction, it was a stream on the trail. Bring your waterproof boots, and it won't be an issue. After summiting Eisenhower, the decision was made to head for Mt. Monroe out and back. The clouds were clearing throughout the day, but the wildfire smoke did cause the more distant views to be hazy. Lots of folks out on both summits enjoying the one day this weekend without rain! |
