Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Novice parking madness... instead of parking on both SIDES, people had parked straight in... and to the right side... when I finished, there were cars parked on both sides AND straight in. Maybe we need parking diagrams? I parked on the road before the bridge.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Little River was manageable, went ~50 ft south of the trail for dry hoppable rocks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: North Twin Spur could use brushing, the spruce corridor is getting narrow; usual mudpits in this section were not overwhelming. Many blowdowns on the Twinway between Twins and Guyot. West Bond seemed much cleaned up from the winter madness, as well as Twinway between Guyot and Zealand. Everything else was in pretty good order.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few happy doggies. Not a lot of available water on this route, so keep that in mind and pack extra for the pooch.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Ground scored an extra unused gel! First hike in a while I haven't picked up a pocketful of trash, so maybe we're finally done with winter.

Comments
Comments: Made a loop for some grid cleanup - over Twins, to West Bond, back to Twinway for Zealand, up Lend-a-Hand to Hale, down Firewarden's and back on North Twin trail. Very fun 20ish miles. Dropped into Guyot campsite to utilize the spring, which meant I never had to carry more than 1 liter of water; as noted above in the dog section, there's not any available water on this route once past the North Twin trail streams, until you drop down into Zealand river area.

All the trails were in decent condition and way drier than I expected. The exception being Twinway between Twins and Guyot - many blowdowns on a section that is usually a nice cruise. Trail is still easily followed, just a bunch of walk-arounds and step-overs. Probably an impediment to a record-breaking Pemi loop.
