 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All of the stream crossings were easy / no risk of getting shoes wet. Up on the cliff trail between Webster and Jackson there were two large puddles at one bare rock section that I had to help my 10 year old across. One is short (3-4 feet) and right against a scramble, the other is a 15-20 foot long section immediately afterward. If you're shorter you may need to stretch or get creative. These were fairly deep (3-6"). The longer section had rocks you could step on but would be a little challenging without long legs. I had my son 'vault' with my trekking poles and he made it fine w/ guidance. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A number of blowdowns (5+), but I did not take notes on their locations |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
|
|
 | Bugs: |
Moderate black flies at both summits. Even with copious bugspray (3 applications) and watching my legs, the flies were all over me and got me a few times. They didn't bother my son though, so I think it depends on the person on how much they go after you. |

 | Comments: |
Excellent weather after rain overnight / early morning. This meant some sections were fairly wet, but thankfully the steeper scrambles were dry. Cliff Trail had a good amount of muddy sections, including some sections with significant mud. Overall most mud was minor, though. All were rock and branch hoppable but a couple sections were challenging for those with shorter legs. Great views at both summits, as well as Bugle Cliff for an early view. We ascended the Webster side and descended after Jackson. |
