Trails
Trails: Greeley Ponds Trail, Mt. Osceola Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, June 25, 2025
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The small lot on the Kanc was pretty much full even though there were only 3 of us that I saw headed up to East O.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues, easily rock-hopped
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in decent shape for the most part. Greeley Pond Trail bog-bridges are in rough shape, some are relatively new but some need replacing. There's one blow-down near East peak that has been limbed and an easy duck-under.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I left my canine hiker home today...she's a mountain doodle but this route is not a dog-friendly as the trail from Tripoli Rd.
Bugs
Bugs: Bugs were hungry today, especially the black flies on the top of O....they love sunny ledges so I probably spent less than a minute up there before heading back towards East O.

Comments
Comments: Quite a bit of rain the night before made this route more interesting, especially descending from East (this should be on the T-25 list). The chimney was a bit hairy but passable. I took the bypass on the way up because a couple were descending the chimney; but descended it on my way back with no problems.7.8 miles RT, and 3,100' elev gain.
