 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We met at 7:30 at Pinkham, no issues finding a spot |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All were rock hoppable. Poles came in handy (packed them away once above treeline) |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The only area that could use a little attention was in the area around the Albert Dow memorial/toboggan cache. Some herd paths developing on the sides as people try to avoid the rocks and wet that is the trail through there. Blazes above treeline looked to be recently touched up |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
saw a few leashed dogs heading up lower Tuckerman's on our way down |
 | Bugs: |
No issues |
 | Lost and Found: |
There was a set of trekking poles standing in the Alpine Garden but may have belonged to the group we had just passed who seemed to be there studying plant life. We picked up the few pieces of litter we found along the way. |

My second time doing Huntington, for one in our group, her first time. I remembered the various challenges well and cursed myself for my heavy pack and for not wearing shorts on a warm day. A couple of places I handed my pack up. Much more fun to do the scrambles unencumbered. My first time on Lion Head, very pretty, fun look into Tuckerman's which had some snow in a couple of places - unlikely enough to ski any distance. The Alpine Garden flowers had been recently wind scoured but we did see a few - sandwort, wild cranberry, mountain avens (and not so alpine but up there - bluets, false hellebore and bunchberry) |
