 | Comments: |
The trail was drier than usual. There was some drying mud between the peaks. The usual wet mud and puddles on the trail just before reaching the Mt Osceola summit area coming from Tripoli Road was putty-like mud.
The Mt Osceola Trail from Tripoli Road is rocky but the grades are easy.
I descended on the chimney by-pass (left path at fork in the trail when descending from Mt Osceola to East Osceola) and ascended the chimney upon returning to Mt Osceola from East Osceola. The surfaces were dry enough in the chimney area for safe passage.
Good views from the large ledge area near the Mt Osceola summit and an even better view from the small rock outcrop on the northside of the trail on the slope below East Osceola.
Lots of hikers out today including many kids.
Not many wildflowers in bloom. Saw wood sorrel and bunchberries. |
