Great day for the Owl! The trails were fast, I cruised right along. Black Pond bushwhack [not a bushwhack] is easy to follow... The last time I did this mountain was in the fall when all the leaves had come down and I ended up making my own bushwhack [that is a bushwhack]...
Water crossings were both easy. I went up the slide to the summit and then took Brutus down (which was also easy to follow). This was my first time taking the slide and it was awesome. Nothing tricky or technical about it, just some fun scrambling and some views which are otherwise limited on this hike
Not many people out which surprised me, even on the usually busy Lincoln Woods Trail. The rangers have been warning of an overly aggressive (and hungry!) bear, but I had no sightings of Yogi.
46/48 for round 3 and 156/576 for the grid |
