Picked up a sit pad and a wad of cash on trail. I took the cash - but if you dropped it, reach out and tell me approximately how much you lost and I'd like to reunite you with it! Email me at crk1025 @ unh.edu (without the spaces). |

MUD! MUD! I love MUD! I found myself postholing up to my hip with one bad step. I am not usually one to complain about mud, but there are a few sections of the Kenduskeag Trail between Rattle River and the summit of Shelburne Moriah that could really use a bog boardwalk or two. Additionally, I would politely describe this section of trail as "intimate" (read: my arms are pretty scratched up due to the close contact with spiky spruce and friendly fir).
Shelburne Moriah is my new favorite mountain. The bogs were just magical! And some of the muddy sections near the bog were...deceptive. I found myself postholing up to my hip with one bad step. Just be prepared for mud and enjoy the bog! |
