Not bad, some mosquitoes when you stop moving and black flies on summit. No deer flies. Mosquitoes were likely worse because I was hiking at dusk. Did not find any ticks on myself or alfie |

 | Comments: |
Wanted a quiet trail and decided to try Carriage Road. My body wasn’t feeling it yesterday so we didn’t push for the actual summit. Quite a bit of mud before first intersection with Hurricane Trail. Some of it was deep. ATV tracks made it worse, but judging from the fresh wood shavings in a couple places, it most likely was for the purpose of trail maintenance. Many places for Alfie to cool off in water before you really start ascending. Interestingly, he did NOT like the funny metal bridge that I believe was called Camp Misery Memorial Bridge (lol). |
