Comments
Comments: After cleaning the Welton Falls Trail (South) a few days ago, we opted to take advantage of our work, and use the trail as part of a 7-mile loop.

Lovely conditions -- nice temps, nice dry air (rocks and ledges are no longer suppurating with moisture), and a fine breeze.

Wild blueberries are having a banner year on the Elwell Trail ledges.

Trail maintenance notes: WFT (South) is in fine condition; Elwell Trail from WFT (South) intersection west up to the chimney has some brushy sections and faded blazes that, coupled with fern/raspberry cane growth, can make the corridor difficult to follow (even we took a wrong turn and got off trail!). Beyond the chimney, to the intersection with Old Dicey Road, the corridor is a bit cleaner -- quite a few medium-sized blowdowns that we were able to drag off the trail. Nothing of note on the Oregon Mountain trail; one lean-over tangle of saplings on Old Dicey Road just north of the trail sign -- could use some more help (small saw?) -- we used hand-clippers to clean a path to walk under. For now, anyone under 6 feet in height can hobbit under it.

We saw no one all day on trails.

Stopped off at Kemah Farms to pick some blueberries -- they're having a banner year, too. Two pints picked in about 10 minutes!
