Tower Trail received some blazing attention today. Some old blazes were repainted and some new ones were added (on better trees where possible). The remaining old blazes will be removed/painted over on the next visit. There are two medium-sized blowdowns. One is on the ground as an easy step over below rejoining the jeep road and the other is a high widowmaker just below the rock steps. It is firmly wedged into another tree and isn't going anywhere right now. |

Mosquitoes were a pain lower down earlier in the morning but then seemed to go away later. Weird. |

A busy day on South Mtn., which is not unusual for a summer Saturday with great weather. Lots of folks out including a trail runner who was running up and down Tower Trail 12 times to train for what I assume to be a race. |
