 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We had no trouble parking at Pinkham because we started our sunrise hike at 230am. It was mobbed when we returned around 9am. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Thank you to whomever took care of the monster blowdown that was right at the first view spur! If there is indeed supposed to be a scree wall marking the end of where hikers are allowed to tread on the second view spur (the one where you can see into the Bowl), then it probably needs to be restacked as it is a bit toppled over. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
This is a challenging route for dogs as there are significant rocky scrambles, a very vertical ladder, and sharp rocks above treeline. My pup lives for this kind of hiking and did great on all of the above. She earned a trailname today, because she probably woke up half of Carroll County when we were on the Boott Spur summit. She is now called the Mountain Rooster. |

We caught a gorgeous sunrise from the upper part of the Boott Spur Trail, and eventually made our way to the summit. We were the sunrise team for Seek the Peak. One of our party looped around and descended Glen Boulder, where he saw approximately 2 dozen hikers ascending. The rest of us descended Boott Spur and saw about the same. Tucks and Pinkham were mobbed upon our return. It was a truly glorious day above treeline! |
