Comments
Comments: How bout a quick hike up Cannon on the way home from camping, kids;) I hadn’t been on Hi-Cannon in years-forgot the bottom half is an eroding sh*t-show akin to KRT from the tramway! Above Dodge Cutoff it is a scrambly delight! Got the 4 and 7 year olds up the ladder without issue, and even myself with a separated shoulder AC joint from last week’s presi fall (told my wife I would rest when I’m dead)! A highlight was finally meeting the legendary Hiker Ed near the summit. Thanks for the kid cookies!!! I also had only been down KRT to Coppermine Col once many years ago and GOOD NIGHT that stretch is bananas!!! Told the kids it would be similar to Sabbaday- Margaret made sure to keep telling me it was NOT! James enjoyed it though, and we all lived to tell the tale. Definitely had some surprised looks from people ascending when they saw the boy. Saw a large crane, or heron, or something on Around the Lake-pretty neato. We watched it defecate profusely and then fly away! Lemon cake at the hut might have saved my life-thanks Croo! An epic day on the Old Crumbler for James’ 14/48!!!
