 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Very small lot on Rt. 49 (8-10 cars max) that is very easy to overshoot. Parking for the Bearcamp River trail, is also scarce with a small lot holding 4-5 cars on Sandwich Notch Rd. Was the only vehicle in the Bearcamp River lot virtually all day, and there was a spot or two left in the Drakes Brook/Sandwich Mountain lot at 5pm. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All water crossings were pretty easy to rock hop. The river crossing on Bearcamp River trail has a solid bridge. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There were about 2 blowdowns on each trail, none of them were difficult to navigate. There was one section on Bearcamp River trail and one section near the lowest river crossing on Drakes Brook trail where the path was somewhat obscure. I was able to find the path without too much trouble, but could easily get off trail if you're not paying close attention. Most of these were not well travelled trails, and the overgrowth in many sections made that obvious. |

 | Bugs: |
Wide variety but not a lot of bugs in general. Saw anything from a couple different kinds of wasps to several kinds of flies to mosquitoes, spiders, ants and inchworms. No bites today but my friend was stung by a wasp of some kind (didn't see it so don't know what kind) |

 | Comments: |
Pretty nice day for a hike, though the smoke from Canadian wildfires greatly diminished views. Visibility was down to maybe 15 miles when normally it is closer to 50-60 miles. Sandwich Notch road isn't in too bad a shape, but would still recommend bringing a durable vehicle to travel down that road. Between Black Mountain Pond and Algonquin trail, the terrain is very steep requiring scrambling over several large rocks and ledges with good handholds. Great hike across many scenic, but remote, quiet trails. |
