 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossings of Rocky Branch are easily accomplished by rock hops. The water level is not high. One crossing on the Rocky Branch Trail and two crossings on the Isolation Trail. Two other crossings on the Isolation Trail can be avoided by taking a short herd path. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good condition. Expect some downed trees under wilderness protocol. Met two USFS volunteers trimming brush on the Davis Path. All of the bog bridges on the Davis Path are deteriorated with exposed spikes. |

 | Comments: |
The trails were less watery and muddy than usual. Nevertheless, expect to rock hop in many sections of trail to avoid getting wet feet. Even so, most of the distance was dry.
Most of the elevation gain is from route 16 up to the initial height of land. Thereafter, it is mostly mileage but not too much of a grade.
Saw the berries of the Bluebead Lily, Bunchberry, and Clasping-Leafed Twisted Stalk.
Also, observed the flowers of goldenrod and aster.
Hazy views from the summit of Mt Isolation due to the wildfire smoke.
Hiked with Dennis from Littleton for much of the distance. Met many other hikers. Most came from route 16 with a few others coming in from Boott Spur. One hiker came from Marshfield Station and the two USFS volunteers hiked from Dry River and up the west section of the Isolation Trail. |
