Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All 13 (!) fairly easily hoppable thanks to low water levels.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Fresh, large blowdown at the 3.5 mile mark on Downe’s Brook.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Ours was the only doggo out there today (not many humans either). I think she got sick of the water crossings on Downe’s Brook eventually. These were her 37/48 and 38/48.

Comments
Comments: BEAR ALERT: just a heads up that we saw a bear on the Oliverian-Downe’s Brook XC Ski Trail just before the meadow (which is gorgeous near sunset) so about halfway between the two parking lots. Looked to be a juvenile. Stared at us for a second or so and went bounding off into the woods. Good thing our dog was on a leash because, being part hound, she wanted to chase it.

There are 10 crossings of Downe’s Brook, not 11 as some have claimed. I took a video of every one. Because. Maybe I’ll put a montage on Instagram (quantum.moxie).
