Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Had a run in with Lincoln PD at 0130 checking cars. I thought it was my hiking partner so I was being a goofball. Mutual confusion and hilarity ensued.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water is scarce due to low rainfall lately. The only sure water is what you'd expect It should be noted there are signs at Liberty Springs and Guyot imploring you to NOT leave your pack due to the bear who has been taught by humans that he can get easy snacks. Spring at Garfield is flowing, Garfield Pond could be used if i was beyond desperate. None of the seasonal feeder brooks of Black Island Brook are flowing on Bondcliff Tr, only its main channel.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Nothing of note

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Salami lost a maroon headband somewhere around Flib - I heard about it, jokingly, all day. If you find it, I would be a hero! :P

Comments
Comments: A FINE day in and above Henry's Woods was had. I willingly donned my scarlet "S" shirt - (for sucker) and met Salami at 0130 to go for a little walk. She had never done a Pemi, and I wanted some big miles for a later fall stupid ultra idea. We made exceptional time up Osseo trail, I had trail amnesia and this was quite great footing, especially that along the old narrow gauge corridor - yes, at one point there was a narrow gauge railroad that went up there, although it was only in use one year! We caught some fantastic pre sunrise colors on Liberty, and watched the sunrise through the trees. Four people seen on Franconia Ridge, I guess being up there at 6am is helpful. Despite the calendar stating its August 2, winter came in with a reminder that is around the corner, an ambient at 46 on the Ridge was read. Great for me, I am like a frisky thoroughbred in those temps - bucking squealing and farting. Great conditions persisted through the day. Ran into familiar faces on Garfield, Twinway and Guyot. Of note on the way out, several folks where doing the same hike and we leapfrogged all day. We got passed by a trail runner who was out of steam but still trying, and then a familiar face we had multiple times all day, in rapid success. Out of steam trail runner asked if he could join the other for motivation and he watched them slowly vanish into the never ending railroad grade around 4 mile brook. For all the bad I've seen lately, it was nice to see that small gesture
