Lovely Carter traverse after hammering some hut breakfast. Kids loved yelling from pulpit rock-the echo chamber that is Carter Notch is truly remarkable. Saw plenty of friendly hikers enjoying another lovely day, albeit the wildfire smoke. Haze for days!!! We could barely see the presis across the valley. Like yesterday the air didn’t bother any of us-so that was good! Utilized the camp dodge cutoff and a lovely herd path that leaves the access road, crossing a small clearing and spitting you out on route 16 directly across from Great Gulf lot, where we parked yesterday. After bagging eight 4k’s in three days and getting the boy to 27/48, I am looking forward to a two week flatland vacation that will force some much needed rest and recovery! |
