Nice evening for this short bushwhack. Parked at CR Trailhead and walked approx 250 feet north on Jefferson Notch Road through mostly open and ferny woods at 3000 to 3150 feet. Blowdowns were avoided for the most part until summit. Canister was found with no issue and register was dry and approx 3/4 full. Followed a short herd path beyond register for limited views of Presidentials. Descending i took and even better line down completely avoiding blowdowns until unfortunately cutting south too quickly encountering a nearly impenetrable mass of blowdowns. Exited just above entry point on Jefferson Notch Road. The next time will enter/exit at least 300 feet north from parking. Lots of moose activity out there. |
