Bugs
Bugs: At the North Lafayette cairn, a ton of bees were buzzing, suggesting a hive was inside it. Be careful.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: two toilet paper wads left as souvenirs in on the Skook. footpath by previous hikers, which (apologies) I buried and did not carry out. Really people, go off trail!

Comments
Comments: Great day with views that never grow old, despite thick wildfire haze. Although about two dozen were at the summit with us, folks were polite and mostly gave space and passing options to the faster among us. First time ascending the full way to Lafayette and the beautiful rock steps were a treat. Hut visits are always fun too and I wasn't aware there's a new wooden platform near the (now dry) pond in the boggy area beneath the hut. Me being 7 mo. post-hamstring tear (dr. said it takes a year to heal, dammit) with enough other aging joint issues to bore anyone, the easing grades on the Greenleaf Tr. were welcome. Admired the trail runners and fast-paced trekkers. We walked the I-93 on-ramp out of the woods and to the Lafayette Brook bridge/Gov. Gallen memorial, which we think saved about 0.5 mi on the recreation path. Savored the setting sun and red-orange half moon on the walk back to the car, where for once we were not the only ones there. A scenic way to train for Coe/S. Brother/Fort in two weeks, yikes.
