At the top of Iron Mtn. Rd. in Jackson. The small lot can hold five cars but on this day, due to People Parking Poorly, there was only room for four. Recent reports mention that Iron Mtn. Rd. is in sketchy shape but I didn't find it to be much different than in the past; it looks like it's been graded at some point too. It's still not any less steep though so AWD and high clearance is recommended. |

The 2021 relocation is in pretty good shape but there are some trail creep issues from people walking on the edges, cutting corners, and going around obstacles. |

This was my first time back since first seeing the 2021 relocation soon after it was built. That section is worn in nicely now and you can barely see where the original route of the trail was.
Views were still good, though heavily obscured in the distance by the wildfire smoke. Washington was invisible. Looks like most people started early as I saw several hikers heading down as I was ascending. |
