Only noticed bugs right at the top of the steps going up to the observatory. |

Needed a short hike for a late start, and this fit the bill for the day. The Cannon Tram parking lot was packed, and the designated hiker lot was just about full by noon on Saturday too. No real surprise there. However, a shocking lack of people on the trails and the summit. The mud that usually lives in all of its glory near the last half mile to the summit was totally dried up. Otherwise, nothing much to note here. The erosion is bad on the trail, but that's nothing new. |
