Comments
Comments: Started hiking on noon Monday and snagged one of the last tent pads at Liberty Springs tent site at 2:45PM. The campsite was full at 3PM and after returning from our out and back to Liberty/Flume the place was jam packed with through hikers and pemi-loopers who were all in the overflow area behind the cooking area (behind the water source). We were happy to hear the infamous bear had been there just three days prior and thus did not show up last night, despite Margaret's best effort to lure it to our tent pad by vomiting mac n' cheese all over the place at 8PM!!!

Hit the ridge early this morning and once again were treated to cool, sunny weather and hundred-mile views! What a joy to return from the midwest and see the smoke and haze has cleared for the moment. Tons of through hikers, pemi-loopers, and day hikers out enjoying the spectacular weather. I was graciously offered some australian "old croc" 18-month white cheddar cheese from NOBO Clutch on Lafayette summit, which paired nicely with a nip of fireball that was given to me by Little Potato. They had camped at Liberty Springs and appreciated my story of my youngest sharting himself and my oldest vomiting both just before bedtime.

The descent down from Lafayette was soul-crushing with the 85 liter pack and no poles due to gimpy shoulder injuries, and the kiddos were over it as well. James was not happy about the 1.5 mile bike path walk, so I offered to carry both his 12 liter and Badass' 38 liter packs and we jogged it rather briskly, which gained me some curious looks from cyclists. 85+38+12= too many liters!!! Wife asked how we felt on drive home-told her our hearts were full but our tanks were empty:). 28-31/48 for the boy.
