Comments
Comments: With the lack of rain this month, this route was an excellent choice for the Kinsmans (especially if you're trying to avoid paying the new fees in the lot on the other side of the mountain).

The trails were mostly dry, with very few area of mud. The few sections of the Kinsman Pond Trail that hike up through a stream bed were totally dried up today, though some moss on the rocks still made for a bit of slow going in a few areas. Didn't see anyone for the majority of the time on Kinsman Pond Trail until reaching Kinsman Pond, then maybe only saw a dozen people the rest of the day, including a few AT hikers.

This is a slightly longer out and back route than some others to the Kinsmans (11.4 miles RT), but well worth it for the scenery and chance to check out some new trails!

For a post-hike cool down, dipping your feet in the cold water is well worth it!
