 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot was full. Parked on road side. Only one side is permitted. Someone actually drove a Cybertruck and parked on the side. Their reputation for certain roads, etc, is mixed. But these folks had no trouble. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
With this drought, even the difficult one was easy.

|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Great! Not one blowdown. Thanks! |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Several happy dogs. They will stay happy if their people carry extra water, because once you start climbing, there is no more water. |
|
 | Bugs: |
None for me. Prema had a few blackflies at the first viewpoint. |

First time back in 12 years. We need the Spur for tracing, but I was too slow, so we'll be back from the other side for another try.
The reroutes were nicely done. For those looking to get Hale, the Firewarden's Trail is so obvious now.Water crossing was not bad. Ascending was tiring for me after a while, lose time on steeps. The trail is very easy to follow.
Enjoyed the views from the Outlook. Couldn't ask for a better day weatherwise.
Descent - usually I make better time here, but this trail (as easily followed as it is) had one little problem. Certain sections were gravely and I slipped several times. So I had to pick my way down. Needed the headlamp about a mile from the car. Nice ending in the dark, though. New moon, better stars.
Speaking of "gravelly," could we add it to surface conditions? Thanks. |
