Comments
Comments: The trails were amazingly dry. Even the usual mud pits between the two Twins were dry. As Beckie previously reported, there are a lot of loose rocks on the North Twin Trail uphill of the Little River crossing.
The former herd path off the North Twin Trail that eliminated the need for the first two crossings of the Little River is now replaced by a maintained trail. There are at least a couple of blazes on the reroute and a set of wood stairs.
Most of the day hikers used the North Twin / North Twin Spur route. Met one hiker that came in from Mt Garfield. There were some AT thru hikers and it appeared there was probably one Pemi Looper.
Great views from both summits and from the open ridge below South Twin.
