Bugs
Bugs: BEES! I was stung while crossing a dry river about a mile in from the trailhead. Apparently several others have reported there is a large hive here, which I didn't know, so watch out! Some black flies as the day warmed up, but the cooler temps kept flies & mosquitos at bay.

Comments
Comments: A lovely day in the Whites! Trail has mostly dried out from the recent rain. Air temps are crisp and it was breezy, which made it refreshingly chilly up top. Leaves are already starting to fall. Gorgeous, blue skies and a perfect day for hiking.
